Teacher+Summer=New Routines

Okay, so it's the first week off from teaching.  Whoo-hoo!  Every teacher anticipates the last day of school.  We work hard all year, motivating our students, lesson planning, paper work, and we love our job (well most us I hope).  Summer for me, equates to swimming, vacations, family time, laundry, sleeping in, more laundry, and NO MORE ROUTINE.  So today I am conquering the goal of getting organized and embracing SUMMER as a TEACHER taking a break!

1. Let's fill up the calendar. Yesterday I spent about an hour making doctor, dentist appointments, and making dates with friends for lunch, swimming, parks,  etc...
2. Make a chore list for boys.  It's important for kids to have a routine in the summer.  Mom can't do it all.
3.  Sign up for some local races.  I am already signed up for the Lutz, July 4th 5k so excited for this and planning on the Picnic Adventure run in Tampa.  Will get one more on the list.
4. Make some long term running goals.  Do I step it up an commit to another 13.1 or shoot for the 26.2?  Big decision, but need to make soon.
5.  Begin each day with a cup of COFFEE! I love my Kurig.  I splurge on a Cafe Con Leche from Taco Son about once every two weeks.  It's well worth the $4! :)
6.  Plan on an activity each day. I either swim, cycle, run, or do some sort of strength training)
7.  Limit TV watching.  I could lounge all day watching re-runs of House Wives and Law & Order.
8. Plan meals. Buy meat and additional ingredients for healthy snacks and meals for the week.
9.  Keep house CLEAN everyday.  It is a challenge with three boys but feels good to have everything organized and fresh!
10. Do something nice for someone every day!!

So there you have it...My summer has started and I'm sticking to it!  Have wonderful day and LIVE. RUN. CONQUER! :)
